Galatasaray Shut Door On Osimhen Exit

Several clubs have tested the Turkish side’s resolve. Atlético Madrid are reported to have proposed a package worth up to €125 million, while Manchester United have also made enquiries about the striker.

Arsenal reportedly explored a player-plus-cash deal, offering Viktor Gyökeres and €30 million, but Galatasaray rejected the proposal. Tottenham have also seen a reported €60 million offer turned down.

Barcelona and Real Madrid have been linked with Osimhen but have not made formal moves for the forward.

According to BeinSports, Galatasaray now intend to keep the striker and build their next campaign around him.

Osimhen set for bigger Galatasaray role

The club’s plans reportedly extend beyond keeping Osimhen at Rams Park. Following Mauro Icardi’s departure, Galatasaray are expected to hand the Nigerian the iconic No. 9 shirt and consider making him captain.

The Turkish champions also want Osimhen to spearhead their next Champions League campaign as they attempt to establish themselves among Europe’s stronger sides.

A potential move to Italy presents another complication. Galatasaray could reportedly face a financial penalty of at least €70 million if Osimhen is sold to a Serie A club before September 2027 under conditions linked to his transfer from Napoli.

Osimhen’s first full season in Turkey further explains Galatasaray’s determination to retain him. He scored 35 goals across all competitions and provided seven assists.

The striker also reached 50 goals for the club in just 59 appearances, becoming the fastest player in Galatasaray’s history to achieve the milestone.

With three years remaining on his contract and the club planning a more prominent role for him, Osimhen is increasingly likely to remain in Istanbul for the new season.
