Six students of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, and one visitor were abducted on Wednesday night after armed men stormed a students’ off-campus lodge in Gudi, Akwanga Local Government Area of the state.

The Nasarawa State Police Command confirmed the incident in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, Ramhan Nansel, saying the armed attackers stormed the lodge and whisked the students away to an unknown destination.

According to the statement, the incident occurred at about 9:00pm on May 6, 2026, at Anguwar Ninzo, on the outskirts of Gudi town.

The attackers reportedly stormed the lodge and took the victims to an unknown location.

The six identified victims are all students of the Faculty of Engineering at the university’s Gudi Campus.

The seventh victim was said to be visiting one of the students at the time of the attack.

Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, immediately visited the scene for an on-the-spot assessment and assured students, residents and the university community of the command’s commitment to securing the safe rescue of the abducted victims.

“A joint security team comprising the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services, the Military, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, vigilante groups and other tactical units has also been deployed to track down the abductors and bring them to justice,” CP Mohammed said.
