Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has joined Cristiano Ronaldo in the annals of Champions League history following the Bundesliga side’s 2-0 victory over Bodo/Glimt at the Allianz Arena.
Kane has now scored in eight consecutive Champions League matches, a remarkable achievement that places him among only four players in the history of the competition to reach this milestone.
He joins Ronaldo, who accomplished the feat on two separate occasions during the 2013-14 and 2017-18 seasons.
The other two players in this elite group are Robert Lewandowski, who also achieved the streak twice in his career, and Ruud van Nistelrooy, whose scoring run was pivotal in defining an era of Champions League goalscoring in the early 2000s.
Kane scored in the 60th minute after rising to head in a cross from Michael Olise, following Jamal Musiala’s earlier opener.
The strike also increased his total to 33 Champions League goals since joining Bayern in the summer of 2023, making him the competition’s highest scorer during that period.
Kane’s current streak leaves him just three matches away from the all-time record of 11 consecutive Champions League appearances with a goal, a record set by Ronaldo between September 2017 and April 2018 that remains unbroken.
