Social media activist VeryDarkMan has alleged that a man was defrauded of ₦96 million by a senior officer of the Nigeria Customs Service at the Customs headquarters in Abuja.
VDM made the allegation while revealing what he described as a fresh case of fraud involving personnel of the agency.
According to him, the alleged victim was defrauded in connection with a transaction involving Customs officers and said the incident happened inside the office of an Assistant Comptroller-General at the service’s headquarters.
“In This Country, There’s No Place You Cannot Be Scammed. This Man Was Defrauded Of ₦96 Million By Customs Officers In Nigeria, And It Happened Right Inside The Office Of The ACG At The Customs Headquarters In Abuja, By a Senior Customs Officer,” VDM said.
The allegation has generated reactions online, with some Nigerians expressing shock over the amount involved and questioning how such a transaction could allegedly take place inside a government security agency’s headquarters.
Others praised VDM for bringing attention to alleged corruption, while some urged him to provide evidence and called for an investigation into the claims.
