Former presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad, has traded words with music star, Davido, ahead of the Osun gubernatorial election.
Newsunplug reported that Davido had reacted after President Tinubu called his uncle, Gov Adeleke, following his order to the EFCC to lift the court freeze on Osun accounts
His response didn’t sit well with Bashir, who made Davido know that his tweet was bookmarked and would serve as a reference for future events. He said he knows Davido will come back to lament when the election isn’t in their favour.
“This tweet is bookmarked. It will serve as a reference for future events. I know you will come back here to lament if the August 15 results don’t go your way”.
Responding to him, Davido told him to shut up, noting how he only had 16 votes in his primary election.
“U got 16 votes bro I’m primaries STFU!!”.
Hitting back, Bashir noted how people have poked fun at his primary loss enough. He questioned the number of Grammy awards Davido has won from his five nominations.
“We have talked enough about the number of votes I got in my primaries. Can we now talk about the number of Grammy Awards you have won from your five nominations, David?
Fair is fair”.
Clapping back, the singer said he doesn’t measure success by one award, but by sold-out arenas, billions of streams, global influence, and people singing his songs across continents.
“You measure success by one award. I measure it by sold-out arenas, billions of streams, global influence, and people singing my songs across continents.
You had government backing and still couldn’t convince enough people to back you in your small constituency.
You’re a small boy who came into politics by accident.
You spent 8 years with the ex-president and couldn’t make a change in your poverty-stricken community.
We all have different trophies, Bashir. I’ll keep inspiring the young ones and generations to come while you wait for the next government job to get crumbs”.
Having the last laugh, Bashir shared a photo of Tyla with her Grammy win to taunt the singer.
