Nollywood actress Laide Bakare is sharing more details about her two failed marriages.
In an interview with Chude Jideonwo, she revealed that her first husband felt threatened by her financial freedom and kicked her out of the house after her trip to the US.
“I travelled to the US, and when I came back, he said, ‘ Don’t bring that back to the house. My first husband was threatened by me being financially free”.
Touching on her second marriage, she said her ex-husband’s current partner used to be just his girlfriend before she became his wife. She noted that the woman used to hide from her whenever she heard her name.
“When I used to be with me, the woman was just his girlfriend. A girlfriend that was hiding from me, and whenever she heard my name, she would run”.
Laide revealed that she has been fighting for custody of her two sons for 10 years now. She said that at one point, she had custody of them and then was denied access.
“I have been fighting for custody of my kids for the past 10 years.
