Nigerian content creator Muhammed Gilmore has claimed that American streamer Kai Cenat borrowed one of his content ideas. BuyMaps
Speaking during an interview with Chude Jideonwo, Gilmore said he came up with the concept for his boarding school series in 2022, before Kai Cenat allegedly adopted a similar idea.
The skit maker also opened up about his financial struggles, revealing that he once invested nearly ₦100 million in a project but made only ₦450,000 in return.
“Can you imagine when you put almost 100 million, I made 450,000. I came out, I was extremely broke,” he recalled.
Gilmore also recounted an encounter with Davido, claiming he once instructed a driver to disrupt the singer’s convoy in an attempt to get his attention. He said they eventually lay in front of the vehicle to ask for help, prompting Davido to wind down his window and ask, “Are you crazy?”
Reflecting on his personal growth, Gilmore said he went from being a shy child to building a career in content creation.
He also recalled breaking down in tears while alone at Jaja Hall, University of Lagos, describing the experience as a turning point in his life.
“Don’t pray for money; pray may your life change internally first,” he advised.
