Former Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) President, Emeka Rollas, has apologised to veteran actress Rita Daniels, her daughter Regina Daniels, and Senator Ned Nwoko over remarks he made during their widely publicised marital crisis in 2025.
Rollas issued the apology in a letter shared on his Instagram page on Thursday, October 8, 2026, admitting that although he stood by some of the concerns he expressed at the time, he acknowledged that he did not handle the situation in the best way.
The former AGN president had spoken publicly in November 2025 following reports of tension between Regina Daniels and her husband, Ned Nwoko.
At the time, Rollas supported the senator’s position that Regina needed help and questioned the decision of some colleagues in the entertainment industry to remain silent on the matter.
He also criticised Rita Daniels, asking how she could be campaigning for the AGN presidency while concerns surrounding her daughter’s marriage and wellbeing were making headlines.
His comments sparked reactions across the entertainment industry, with some people supporting his position while others criticised his approach.
Reflecting on the incident in his latest statement, Rollas said being convinced about an issue does not necessarily mean one is justified in the manner in which it is addressed.
According to him, a recent unexpected encounter with Rita Daniels, where mutual acquaintances attempted to reconcile both parties, prompted him to reconsider his actions.
Rollas wrote:
“A recent coincidental encounter with Mrs. Rita Daniels, where some people tried to make peace between us, gave me another opportunity to reflect. So today, without excuses or conditions, I sincerely apologise: To Mrs. Rita Daniels and the Daniels family. To Senator Prince Ned Nwoko and his family. To Regina Daniels. To the AGN Board of Trustees. And to Okey Bakassi, Charles Inojie, Chinyere Wilfred, Jide Kosoko, Sanni Danji, Agility, Nazareth Jesse, my former aides and every colleague whose name I mentioned. I am sorry.”
He made it clear that the apology came without any conditions and that it was up to those involved to decide whether or not to accept it.
Rollas further explained that while he may still hold some of the views he expressed during the controversy, he accepts responsibility for the timing and manner in which he communicated them.
“Leadership is not only about having the courage to speak. It is also about having the humility to acknowledge when we could have spoken differently, waited longer, or chosen a better path,” he wrote.
