Nigerian actor Lanre Adediwura, known for his portrayal of Olumide Kuti in the TV series Wura, has shared the reason he turned down an opportunity to return to the show produced by MultiChoice.
In a recent interview with TVC Entertainment, the actor explained that his involvement in the project was not financially rewarding. He also noted that working on the series limited his ability to take on other acting jobs, as the schedule made it difficult to explore opportunities in the wider film industry.
Adediwura further revealed that after leaving the series, he experienced a period of financial difficulty. However, he said his situation improved after he began working with YouTube, which helped him regain stability.
“I came out of ‘Wura’, and I was spending more than I made. I came out poorer. For six months after ‘Wura’, I could have practically gone to a neighbour for Garri. It was YouTube that got me the stability,” he said.
“The role gave me everything I wanted, yes, maybe the production itself did not give me what I wanted because everything promised was not fulfilled. This is the first time anyone has heard this from me.
