The father of late Nollywood actress and social media influencer Nimmy Ferrari has responded to allegations made by her mother, amid a growing dispute over the actress’s burial and the ownership of the house she reportedly built before her death.
Nimmy Ferrari reportedly died just days before she was scheduled to hold a housewarming ceremony for her newly completed home. Her death was announced on Instagram on Sunday, September 7, 2026, by fellow actress Oluwakemisola Apesin, popularly known as Kemity.
Her sudden passing sparked an outpouring of grief across the entertainment industry. However, tensions within her family reportedly emerged shortly after her death.
Nimmy’s mother had appealed to members of the public, alleging that her daughter’s paternal family was against the actress being buried at the property she had built. She further claimed that the family was planning to exhume Nimmy’s remains and eventually sell the house.
The grieving mother also alleged that Nimmy’s father had not contributed to her daughter’s upbringing, education or medical treatment.
In a video shared on social media on September 9, the actress’s father addressed the allegations, offering his own account of events and disputing several of the claims made against him.
Speaking about Nimmy’s medical treatment, he said his daughter only contacted him after she had already been admitted to a hospital for fibroid surgery. According to him, the proposed surgery was estimated to cost N3.6 million, prompting him to recommend another doctor in Abeokuta whom he believed could provide an alternative form of treatment.
He also addressed the controversy surrounding Nimmy’s house, explaining that his daughter had previously told him she wanted to own a home.
According to him, he consulted members of the family’s elders, who agreed that a portion of their family land should be allocated to Nimmy for the project.
He further claimed that Nimmy had asked him not to inform her mother about the arrangement. He alleged that the first piece of land Nimmy acquired through her mother was eventually sold.
In his words:
“I can’t kill my child,” he said in the video.
He continued:
“She called me that she was already at the hospital for fibroid surgery. I asked why she didn’t tell me earlier. I know people who treat it with herbs. She said they had already collected scan fees and the surgery would cost 3.6 million. And I suggested a doctor I know in Abeokuta instead.
“About the house, she called me and said she wanted to build her own house. I told the elders in the family and they said we should cut out a portion for her from our family land.
“While I was building the house for her, she begged me not to let her mother know about it. That the first land she bought through her mother. Her mother later sold the land.”
The father’s response has added another layer to the family dispute, with both sides presenting different accounts of Nimmy Ferrari’s relationship with her parents, her medical care and the circumstances surrounding the property.
