Nigerian personality Fola has explained the story behind his viral photo showing him defending his academic project while dressed in mufti.
According to Fola, the picture was taken shortly after he arrived in Nigeria from Canada. Rather than going home to rest after his journey, he reportedly drove straight from the airport to his school because he was determined to defend his project in person.
He explained that he showed his lecturer his flight ticket as evidence that he had just arrived from abroad. After seeing the ticket, the lecturer allowed him to proceed with the project defense.
Recounting the experience, Fola said, “That viral picture of me defending my project in mufti was taken right after I landed from Canada. I drove straight to school from the airport because I wanted to do the defense myself. I showed my lecturer my flight ticket, and he allowed me to do the defense.”
The revelation has shed more light on the circumstances surrounding the viral photograph, which captured Fola attending an important academic exercise in casual clothing shortly after an international trip.
