Mavin Records founder and renowned music executive Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has dismissed claims that he demands payment before promoting projects for people in the entertainment industry.
The clarification followed a humorous video shared by Nollywood actor Itele on X, where he jokingly appeared to tie up the music executive while “forcing” him to promote his upcoming movie, Black Market.
Although the skit was clearly intended as comedy, an X user, Oba Tao Oshomo, interpreted the scene differently and suggested that Don Jazzy could do anything for money.
Reacting to the comment, Don Jazzy quickly shut down the insinuation, stressing that he has never collected money from anyone in the entertainment industry in exchange for promotional support.
He wrote:
“Nobody in the entertainment space has ever paid me a dime for promo oo. You think say I be don for mouth. The Don’s blessings na free bro.”
With his response, the music executive emphasized that his promotional support for fellow entertainers is not something he charges for, describing it instead as his way of supporting creatives.
