The situation started when a fan page dedicated to Davido teased Ruger, saying:
“Once you publicly apologize and beg Davido, your song will hit No. 1.”
Ruger quickly replied, challenging the claim:
“Did Davido ever tell you I did anything wrong to him?”
He later shared a message expressing his respect and fondness for Davido, while rejecting any notion of tension between them. He wrote:
“I love Davido, and I know he loves me too. People on his team still share my work. I’ll never buy into this narrative that he doesn’t f with me unless he tells me directly or publicly. But if he does, you’ll see it everywhere first.”
