Nollywood actor Gideon Okeke has revealed that he does not accept movie roles in productions with budgets below N100 million.
The actor made this known while speaking during a podcast, explaining that his standard is based on the overall production budget and not necessarily the amount he would personally earn from a project.
Gideon said, “I never do any film where the budget na less than 100 million. Have you taken your 100 million Naira budget to go and do YouTube film? Maybe I’ll follow you.”
He further clarified that his decision is not about demanding higher personal pay, stating, “No, no be pay well. Nothing where I do where the budget na less than 100 million.”
According to the actor, most of the movies he has featured in have significantly higher budgets, with productions starting from N300 million.
“All the film where you know me for, na from 300 million upwards. That’s why you see me for cinema, that’s why you see me for Netflix, yeah,” he said.
His comments have since generated reactions online, with some social media users supporting his decision to maintain a standard, while others questioned the profitability of productions with such budgets.
