An elderly man from Imo State, Anthony Anyiam Nkemakolam, is drawing attention after claims that he is 128 years old and still living an active life.

Pa Anyiam, from Umuchoke Obazu in Mbaitoli LGA, is said to have a sharp memory, good eyesight and enough strength to carry out his daily activities with little assistance.

According to his family, records suggest he was already married by 1918, leading them to estimate his age at about 128 years. The centenarian also recalls being a youth during the First World War in 1914.

Despite his age, Pa Anyiam says he still reads his Bible without glasses and remains mentally alert.

Reflecting on his long life, he advised young people to learn a skill and become self-reliant, noting that vocational training helped shape his own life and career.

The father and grandfather attributes his longevity to God’s grace, regular physical activity, discipline and living peacefully with others.
