Makinde spoke on Sunday when he met with Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, in Bauchi.

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has blamed the crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on an alleged move by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike to weaken the party in favour of President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections.

Makinde spoke on Sunday when he met with Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, in Bauchi.

According to Makinde, any PDP member identifying with the Wike-backed faction must have agreed to support Tinubu in 2027.

Makinde said, “I was in a meeting with Wike and Mr President and he (Wike) promised to hold PDP for Mr President towards 2027.

“So anyone moving with Wike and his group, have agreed to support President Tinubu for the 2027 election.

“We are not begrudging them. You can support whoever you want to support, but go to them if you want to support them.

“They have the government behind them, they have the judiciary and INEC behind them but we have the people behind us.”
