Nigerian media personality Gilmore has clarified his past comments about Afrobeats singer Asake, revealing that what many people interpreted as hate was actually part of a promotional strategy for his album.
Gilmore explained that his remarks about Asake when the singer released his song Money were intended to generate publicity for the album rather than create a genuine rift between them.
According to him, many people misunderstood the situation and assumed he had something against the Lonely at the Top crooner.
He further disclosed that there was no personal animosity between them, recalling that they exchanged pleasantries when they ran into each other at a club.
“People thought I was hating Asake when he dropped Money, but it was all PR for his album. We even exchanged pleasantries when we met at the club,” Gilmore said.
His revelation suggests that the perceived tension may have been part of a publicity strategy designed to draw attention to the project, rather than a reflection of any personal disagreement between the two entertainers.
