Nigerian evangelist, Reverend Ezekiel Dachomo, has strongly denied rumors alleging that he offered prayers endorsing the Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket of President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima for the 2027 elections. NigerianEntertainment News
The cleric who is the Regional Chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) for Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, is currently undertaking his inaugural International Christian Advocacy Tour in Israel to brief global leaders on the persecution of Christians in Plateau State, addressed the reports in a social media statement on Monday night, October 5.
He clarified that public remarks he made concerning national peace were deliberately distorted by political actors seeking to frame him.
According to Reverend Dachomo, a general prayer offered for the overall wellbeing and success of Nigeria was misconstrued as an explicit political endorsement of the ruling party’s leadership.
“People are trying to frame me, saying I prayed for a Muslim-Muslim ticket. But I did not, and I will never pray for a Muslim-Muslim ticket because Nigeria belongs to both Muslims and Christians,” the cleric stated. NigerianEntertainment News
Emphasizing his nationalistic stance, Dachomo noted that his spiritual duties transcend partisan divides, affirming that he intercedes for citizens of all faiths while maintaining that political alignment requires clean intentions.
“I pray for both Muslims and Christians in Nigeria. I pray for Nigeria to succeed. If you truly want to come to God, come with a clean heart. I did not pray for President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima to win in 2027. My prayers have always been for Nigeria to succeed,” he added.
