Afrobeats star Davido Adeleke has sparked fresh reactions online after sharing another post aimed at Nigerian rapper Erigga amid the ongoing debate about musicians from wealthy families.
The singer’s latest comment came after rapper Erigga praised musicians who did not come from “family money” and had to work hard for their success.
‘Shoutout to Musicians Who Had to Grind’
Erigga had earlier sparked a debate after tweeting:
“Shoutout to all the musicians who don’t come from family money and had to grind for every single dollar they earn.”
Davido, whose father is billionaire businessman Adedeji Adeleke, appeared to respond to the rapper by saying that musicians who come from wealthy families and still work their way to the top also deserve recognition.
“No be we say make your pops no guard o. Shoutout to the ones that came from family money and still grind to the top,” Davido wrote.
The singer later described Erigga’s post as “useless motivation,” with their exchange drawing reactions from social media users.
Davido Shares Fresh Message
As the discussion continued online, Davido appeared to send another message to those criticising him over his family’s wealth.
“I go chop my own money, still chop my papa own. If e pain you, go slap your poor papa,” the singer wrote.
