Celebrity fashion designer Yomi Casual has penned an emotional tribute to his late best friend, Alexx Ekubo, describing his death as a painful loss that has left a permanent void in his life.

In a heartfelt message shared following the actor’s burial, Yomi Casual reflected on their more than 15-year friendship, revealing that Alex was far more than a friend he was family.

According to the designer, the late actor stood by him through life’s highs and lows, offering guidance, loyalty, wisdom, and unwavering support whenever he was needed.

Yomi described Alex as a trusted adviser, teacher, and brother whose kindness and selflessness touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.

He noted that their friendship was built on years of shared dreams, laughter, business successes, disagreements, and unforgettable memories.

The designer also revealed one of his biggest regrets following Alex’s passing.

“It hurts deeply knowing I didn’t spend your last days on earth with you. Alex, this one pain me oooo! If only I knew our time was running out, I would have done everything possible to be by your side. That regret will stay with me for a very long time.”

Yomi further said he understood why Alex chose to keep his illness private, noting that the actor carried his struggles with dignity despite the pressures of public life.

“Ore, I cannot blame you for keeping your illness private. Knowing the world we live in, I can only imagine the things people would have said. You carried your battles with dignity and strength.”

Reflecting on their bond, Yomi said their friendship endured despite public scrutiny and rumors, adding that outsiders never truly understood the depth of their relationship.

He expressed gratitude for the years they shared together and the impact Alex had on his life and family.

“Thank you for being the brother I chose and the friend anyone would be blessed to have. Thank you for your guidance, loyalty, sacrifices, wisdom, and the countless memories we created together.”

The tribute comes days after Alex Ekubo was laid to rest in his hometown of Arochukwu, Abia State, with family, friends, colleagues, and loved ones gathering to pay their final respects.
