Nigerian politician and former lawmaker Dino Melaye has addressed questions surrounding his wealth while explaining why he remains outspoken in his criticism of the government.
According to him, he would not have the freedom to criticise those in power if his wealth had been acquired through questionable means or by allegedly diverting public funds.
“If my wealth is ill-gotten, or if I have st%len government money, I will not be criticizing government. They would have long come after me.”
His comment has drawn attention online, with the politician appearing to suggest that his ability to openly challenge government decisions is an indication that he has nothing to hide regarding his financial standing.
