Nollywood actor Deyemi Okanlawon has said he would have no issue quitting acting if his wife becomes the primary provider for the family.
He made this known during a conversation on the Tea With Tay podcast, where he spoke lightheartedly about what life could look like if his wife became highly successful financially.
Deyemi joked that if his wife were to start earning between $1 million and $10 million annually, he would gladly step away from his acting career and focus on domestic responsibilities.
“I pray to God my wife hits a business that earns between $1 million and $10 million per year. You won’t see me act again,” he said.
He went on to say he would fully embrace life as a stay-at-home husband, handling household duties and taking care of the children, even if he currently does not have strong cooking skills.
“I will become a house husband. I will take my children to school and even cook, despite not knowing how to,” he added.
The actor also reflected on how some men struggle emotionally when their wives earn more, noting that it can sometimes lead to tension in relationships.
“I find that a lot of men are not comfortable with that dynamic, so they become hypersensitive and complain over little things,” he explained.
Deyemi stressed that his main focus is to remain valuable within his family, regardless of who earns more income.
“My only prayer is that, as a human being, regardless of gender, I should be valuable to my family,” he said.
