Popular gospel singer Victoria Orenze has cautioned worshippers against recording videos on their phones during ministration, urging them to focus on God and seek a genuine spiritual encounter.
In a video circulating online, the singer confronted people attempting to record her, questioning why they prioritised capturing moments on their phones instead of concentrating on worship.

Orenze urged them to put their phones away, stressing that being physically present during worship was not enough if their hearts were not focused on God.
“Everything is about capturing, and yet you will have nothing inside. You want to capture? Capture in your heart. Drop those phones. Have an encounter with God,” she admonished.
The gospel singer further referenced biblical figures Bartimaeus and the woman with the issue of blood to emphasise her point, noting that their encounters with Jesus were not about recording events.
She questioned why worshippers were more concerned about filming moments during ministration, suggesting that those genuinely seeking God should prioritise their spiritual needs over making videos.
“The woman with the issue of blood didn’t say, ‘Jesus is passing, let me video Him.’ You don’t have an issue; if you do, you won’t pick up your phones and make videos,” she added.
Orenze’s remarks have drawn attention to the use of mobile phones during church services and the importance of remaining focused during worship.
