Abia State African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate Doris Ogala has broken down in tears while expressing her frustration over the criticism she has faced on social media following her decision to join the governorship race.
The actress-turned-politician, who has been receiving mixed reactions over her political ambition, appealed to Nigerians to show her support rather than judge her without knowing her personally.
In an emotional outburst, Ogala questioned why people were criticising her decision to contest for governor instead of encouraging her for taking what she described as a bold step.
“I’m also a woman. Why do you all judge me when you know nothing about me? Why won’t you encourage me for taking this step (governorship race)?” she said in tears.
Her emotional reaction has drawn attention to the backlash surrounding her political aspiration, with her appeal highlighting the challenges she says she has encountered since announcing her intention to contest.
