Popular Nigerian content creator and streamer Peller has explained why he declined an offer from DSTV to livestream his upcoming wedding, saying he prefers to share the special moment with fans through his own platforms.
The TikTok sensation revealed during a recent live session that the pay-TV company contacted him about streaming the ceremony but he turned down the opportunity because of his confidence in his personal brand and streaming abilities.
According to Peller, he believes he has built a strong enough audience to handle the broadcast himself rather than handing the responsibility to another platform.
“DSTV reached out to me that they want to stream our wedding, but guess
what? DSTV, we love you, but I am a streamer. I’m big enough to stream it. Na my wedding, let me do it.
“Me and my wife will stream our thing that day. We’ll be streaming on Twitch, YouTube and TikTok. That TikTok, I go do live, so dey go dey send me lion back to back,” he said.
The content creator added that he wants his followers to have a direct connection with the celebration by watching it through his personal channels, where he and his wife will take charge of the livestream.
Peller’s wedding is scheduled to take place on August 1, following the couple’s recent traditional marriage ceremony in Edo State, where he officially completed the bride price process for fellow TikToker, Jarvis.
His announcement has sparked conversations online, with some fans applauding his confidence and belief in his platform, while others joked that his TikTok live session could be filled with gifts from viewers throughout the wedding celebration.
