Popular Nigerian skit maker Shank Comics has set social media buzzing after revealing what truly drives his hustle and ambition.
In a viral video circulating on X (formerly Twitter), the content creator made it clear that his motivation is not centred on family expectations, children, or long-term legacy, but on achieving a specific lifestyle goal.
“Anything you do in this life, make sure you have made money to come and live in Ikoyi. I’m not even working hard for my parents or my future children. I’m working hard to come and live in Ikoyi. This is my future,” he said.
His candid statement quickly gained traction online, especially as Ikoyi is widely regarded as one of the most luxurious and expensive residential areas in Lagos.
While some social media users described his comment as honest and relatable, others argued that it overlooks the importance of family responsibility and future planning.
Shank Comics’ remarks have once again sparked conversations around how young Nigerians define success, with lifestyle aspirations and personal comfort increasingly shaping their ambitions.
