Nollywood actress Evan Okoro has sparked a conversation about feminism and relationships among women following her experience after being added to a women’s group.
Reacting to the development, the actress questioned whether being a feminist meant holding grudges against one another, expressing concern over what she perceived as a lack of peace among some women.
In her words, “Is being a feminist part of holding grudges against each other? Some of them don’t like peace; they always enjoy gbas gbos.”
Her comment appeared to criticise the tendency for disagreements and confrontations to arise among women, particularly in spaces where solidarity and mutual support might be expected.
Evan Okoro’s remarks may generate mixed reactions, with some agreeing with her concerns about unnecessary conflicts while others may argue that feminism is about advocating for women’s rights and equality, rather than encouraging hostility between women.
Her reaction has also drawn attention to the importance of understanding feminism and promoting healthy relationships among women, even when they hold different opinions.
