A 24-year-old Nigerian man has denied r@ping a 19-year-old woman who says he dragged her from a main road into woods and s3xually assaulted her in the United Kingdom.
Gift Oladele, of no fixed address but described as having a cleaning business in Manchester, denies two counts of r@ping the woman and a third charge of s3xual assault.
Prosecutor James Coutts told Mold Crown Court the teenager claimed to have been terrified during the alleged ordeal after a night out in Wrexham.
Oladele, she alleged, had covered her mouth with his hand and pushed her down a path where she says she was attacked.
“I’m frozen. I felt like I couldn’t move because I knew what was coming,” she said.
The jury heard it claimed she’d been struck six or seven times and had her jeans ripped off.
The prosecution said that when she arrived home she woke her parents and the police were called.
But Oladele on Friday, March 13, told the court: “I didn’t r@pe this girl.”
“It’s a lie,” he insisted.
Prosecutor James Coutts said the teen was crying, shaking and hysterical.
The defendant said he hadn’t done anything to leave her in such a state.
Oladele accepted he walked with the woman, in the early hours, as she headed home last September, but the defendant claimed she wasn’t telling the truth about what happened to her.
He accepted leaving her in an alley after s3x – activity he claimed to have been consensual – wasn’t “a gentlemanly thing” to do.
