Nollywood actor Ayo Olaiya is marking the 26th anniversary of his late mother’s death.
In a heartbreaking post on his Instagram page, the actor said he still misses his mother’s care, love, advice, encouragement, motivation and prayer. He noted how it was just like yesterday when she died, and now it’s been 26 years without her.
He expressed gratitude for the grace to play his little role as a son, given the meagre income he earned from the bakery before her passing. The Yoruba actor expressed sadness that she didn’t wait to eat the fruit of her labour.
Olaiya said if he had the opportunity to come into this world a million times, he would still choose her as his mother.
“Dear mum, I miss your care, love, advice, encouragement, motivation and prayer. Just like yesterday, it’s been 26 years without you. Thank God for the grace to play my little role as a son from the meagre income I made from bakery work as Alakowe (bakery clerk) back then. So painful that you did not wait to eat the fruits of your labour. “E o duro je onje omo” Maami, if I have the opportunity to come into this world a million times, I would choose to come through you over and over again.
