The lingering feud between Nollywood actresses Iyabo Ojo and Lizzy Anjorin has resurfaced, with Ojo vowing to initiate fresh legal proceedings against her colleague over alleged defamatory remarks, curses, and threats directed at her family.

  • A feud rooted in years of hostility
  • One of Nollywood’s most bitter disputes

The renewed threat comes months after the Lagos State High Court, Osborne Division, struck out Ojo’s ₦1bn defamation suit against Anjorin, citing procedural irregularities, and ordered her counsel, Olabimpe Ajegbomogun, to pay ₦500,000 in costs to Anjorin’s lawyer, Ademola Olabiyi.

In a lengthy Instagram post on Monday, Ojo disclosed that her legal team had been monitoring the situation closely and documenting Anjorin’s comments for possible legal action.

“My legal team isn’t sleeping. They are taking note of everything. A wise person listens to learned counsel. Everything has its timing,” she wrote.

The actress expressed concern over repeated insults, curses and alleged death wishes Anjorin had directed at her children and grandson.

“The insults, curses, even death wishes Liz has directed at my family, especially my grandson, are heartbreaking. Most times, I struggle to hold my peace, but I choose to ignore the distractions. Who God has blessed, no one can curse,” she said.

Ojo explained that she had focused in recent months on welcoming her first grandchild and supporting her daughter, but hinted that on her return to Lagos, firmer legal steps would be taken.

A feud rooted in years of hostility

The clash between both actresses dates back several years and has consistently spilled onto social media and into courtrooms.

The animosity reportedly deepened after Ojo publicly expressed support for Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, the Iyaloja-General and daughter of President Bola Tinubu, who is also the wife of Anjorin’s husband.

The gesture was said to have triggered a wave of accusations and online attacks from Anjorin, setting the tone for years of hostility.

Since then, Anjorin has repeatedly used Facebook live sessions to mock Ojo, sparking parody videos across TikTok and other platforms.

Ojo has accused her colleague of being behind threats to her family, including a letter received by her daughter, Priscilla, in May, warning that their movements were being monitored.

The feud further escalated after a fire incident at Ojo’s Lagos office, which she linked to ongoing threats, claiming that Anjorin should be held responsible if anything happened to her or her family.

One of Nollywood’s most bitter disputes

Despite the setbacks in court, Ojo insists her silence has been strategic, guided by legal advice and personal restraint. She, however, made clear in her Monday post that she would not allow the matter to rest.

“Silence can be powerful,” she noted, adding that while she had ignored the distractions for family reasons, the time for legal redress was near.

With lawsuits, petitions, online taunts and personal threats shaping their rivalry, the dispute between Ojo and Anjorin remains one of Nollywood’s most bitter and publicised feuds.
