Actress Judy Austin’s ex-husband, Mr Emmanuel, has reacted to the alleged N1 billion defamation lawsuit against him, insisting that the legal action will not stop him from speaking about his children or demanding access to them.
In a video, Emmanuel questioned the amount involved in the lawsuit, saying, “You sue me one billion. You feel count am? I laugh, I’m just laughing since yesterday. Some people don’t know the reason why I’m laughing.”
He also questioned the circumstances surrounding his alleged lack of contact with Judy and their children since 2018.
“Thank God in that your lawsuit, you said that the last time I called is 2018 in that lawsuit. So you accepted. You said by yourself. You wrote and I quote that the last time I called you is 2018. Very good and fine. You accept that it’s 2018. Let it be so. What happened on since 2018? Did you block me or you did not block me? Why are you hiding my children from me? Why are you manipulating those children?”
Emmanuel maintained that the lawsuit would not deter him from pursuing his claims concerning his children.
“Do you think that the lawsuit can scare me away from asking for my children? The answer is no. You don’t know me very well,” he said.
He further declared that he was willing to face whatever consequences might arise from his actions.
“Either I have my children or I go to jail.”
Questioning the defamation allegation, Emmanuel said he believed defamation involved making false claims about another person.
“I thought d+famation supposed to be when somebody lie against you, then you can now sue the person that this person is defaming you,” he said.
He also recalled an alleged encounter with Judy, claiming that she travelled from Enugu to Nnewi to resolve issues between them.
“Did you travel to Enugu to come to Nnewi to see me? The answer is yes. Did we lodge in Hotel de Hersen, New Market Road, Nnewi? Second floor, did we lodge there? The answer is yes.”
Emmanuel concluded by insisting that he would continue speaking about the matter despite the lawsuit.
“It’s not this time o. I will be speaking till I put on that cloth and go to jail. I will be speaking,”
The controversy has continued to generate reactions online, with some social media users questioning Emmanuel’s approach to the legal dispute, while others expressed support for his demand to have access to his children.
