A Kenyan woman, Beverline Mbithi, who went to Saudi Arabia in search of greener pastures for her family, has shared how her marriage ended after her husband married their househelp.

Speaking to Kenya Studio, Bervaline, who recently graduated from beauty school, shared that she met the love of her life in 2002 after he approached her, saying that he used to see her going to church in long dresses and fell in love with her.

After Beverline cleared her Form Four exams, she travelled to Uganda to reconnect with her mother’s people, but later she asked to return hime to join college, but the real reason was she wanted to be with her boyfriend.

The two later got married and renewed their vows in a colourful wedding.

Their marriage was later blessed with three children, and all was well for some time until Beverline, who had lost her job, decided to go and work in Saudi Arabia.

They sat together and agreed as a family, and decided the move was timely, only that she didn’t know that 10 Months later, she would lose her marriage.

“After COVID-19, I started realising that the kids were not okay, and when I told my boss that I wanted to leave, she got angry and I decided to leave. When I left, I was being beaten badly, and I got to a police station, and they helped me to get back home,” said Beverline.

When Bervaline was still in Saudi Arabia, she got a call that their maid and her husband were getting married.

“When I landed, I went to live with my sister. My daughter told me, do you know that dad sleeps with aunty in his room? That thing crushed me, and I asked God where did I go wrong?”

“He told me he would persevere without me, but that was not the case. When I went to my house, I found it in disarray, and the ceiling board had fallen. Witchcraft is real; I saw an onion in my bedroom, and it had been cut and then mended back with a black thread, and inside was a paper written I want Samuel Ochieng Dola and I love Bridgit and I took that paper and prayed,” she explained.

When Beverline confronted her husband about his infidelity, he was so rude and arrogant, and when they met with other people, he was violent, but afterwards they had a meeting, and the man said that he wanted to return to his family, but later he said he wanted to be polygamous.

The couple is still staying apart, but Beverline said that she still loves her husband and made a passionate appeal for him to return home.

“You remember what we said at the altar? Until d3ath do us part,” she said.
