A female student was k!lled with her body dumped at the Crusher area along the Felele-Lokoja Road in Lokoja, Kogi State.

The victim, identified as Sarah Ojodomo Idoko, was a final-year student of the Federal University, Lokoja.

Eyewitnesses said her lifeless body was discovered on Saturday night, May 30, 2026 by the roadside near the Crusher area shortly after she was allegedly dumped by her assailants.

An identity card found on her bore the name Idoko Sarah Ojodomo, Department of Office Technology Management, School of Management Studies, Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja.

The ID card further indicated that she was admitted into a Higher National Diploma (HND) programme for the 2024/2025 academic session.

However, the Kogi State Police Command later clarified that the deceased was a student of the Federal University, Lokoja, and not Kogi State Polytechnic as initially reported.

A source in the area said a passer-by reportedly sighted a vehicle around 8pm on Saturday that stopped briefly near the location before speeding off shortly, after which the body was discovered.

The source also noted that there were suspicions surrounding the condition of the body, as no visible signs of organ removal were immediately observed.

The Association of Nigeria Female Students (ANFS), Kogi State chapter, condemned the killing, describing it as “inhuman and unfortunate.”

In a statement, the state coordinator of ANFS, Comrade Celina Ojoniko James, called on security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.

“The Association of Nigeria Female Students (ANFS), Kogi State Chapter, is deeply saddened by the tragic m8rder of Miss Sarah Ojodomo Idoko, a final-year student whose lifeless body was reportedly discovered along Crusher Road, Felele, Lokoja,” the statement read.

The association also urged relevant authorities to strengthen security around student communities and campuses to prevent a recurrence of such incidents.

The Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Naziru Kankarofi, confirmed the incident and said investigations had commenced to determine the circumstances surrounding the d3ath and identify those responsible.

He added that preliminary findings indicated that the deceased was a student of the Federal University, Lokoja, and not Kogi State Polytechnic as earlier reported.

“For now, we are not ready to disclose much about the ongoing investigation. We will make our findings public at the appropriate time for the law to take its course,” he said.
