A woman formerly based in Los Angeles, United States, who recently moved to Nigeria, has shared her observation since moving back.

She took to Threads to share what it feels like living as a woman in Nigeria.

She wrote: “Being a woman in this country is exhausting! I didn’t know why before I moved but somehow I always knew I didn’t want to move here without a husband.

“Being a single woman not attached to a man in Nigeria is fahking EXHAUSTING.

“No wonder so many women here are male-centered…

it’s literally essential to surviving and thriving here. Life is significantly MORE difficult NOT having a man speak on your behalf. CONSTANTLY disrespected condescended dismissed disregarded. Iyamtiyad.”
