Barcelona manager, Hansi Flick has given reasons why his team lost to Girona in the LaLiga on Monday.

Flick watched as Girona defeated the Catalan club 2-1 at home as Pau Cubarsí’s goal was not enough for the visitors.

Speaking at his post-match interview after the game, Flick insisted that Barcelona didn’t play well against the hosts.

According to him, the Blaugrana defended very poorly against Girona, particularly on transition.

“We defended very poorly, especially in transition. We weren’t well-positioned and struggled to withstand Girona’s attacks,” Flick said.

“We needed more control and fewer mistakes. In the first half, we had more chances, but we”ve to show the hunger to win these matches.”

“We did not play well and I don’t want excuses, but we’ve to play better.”

The outcome of the match means Barcelona is now two points behind leaders Real Madrid on the LaLiga table.

Flick’s side will face Levante in their next match this coming weekend.
