Dr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran (Jandor) has officially withdrawn from the 2027 Lagos State governorship race under the All Progressives Congress (APC), citing party unity and alignment with leadership decisions.

With reference to the future of our party and our beloved state of Lagos, I speak to you today with a strong sense of responsibility and purpose.

I obtained the Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for the 2027 Lagos State governorship election under the platform of our wonderful party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), a few days ago, marking a significant step toward my goal of serving. That action was motivated by conviction, consultation, and a sincere desire to advance our state.

But leadership also requires the ability to make tough but essential choices that put the good of the group ahead of individual goals.

I have made the decision to withdraw from the 2027 Lagos State gubernatorial contest in light of Dr. Kadiri Hamzat’s support by our leader, the President of Nigeria, and the leaders of our party in Lagos, as well as the current political climate within our wonderful party.

This choice is the result of strength, discipline, and a strong regard for party unity and coherence rather than weakness or incapacity.

To be clear, I am still a devoted and faithful member of the APC. Additionally, I reiterate my unwavering devotion to and reverence for His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, our party’s national leader. His leadership continues to be essential to our party’s stability and advancement, the nation at large

In keeping with this, I hereby completely support Mr. President’s stance and course on the Lagos State gubernatorial process. Maintaining the progress we have all made over the years depends on party supremacy and strategic alignment.

I express my sincere gratitude to the Lagos4Lagos Movement. This movement has never been about a single person; rather, it has always been about equity, inclusion, and a better Lagos for everybody.

That cause still exists, and it now needs to be expressed through our united support of the party’s chosen course.

I implore all of our stakeholders, leaders, and supporters to remain calm, focused, and committed. This is a moment to consolidate, not to divide; to build, not to fracture.

The field of politics is a spectrum. The choice I made today is a part of a bigger service journey, and I’m still totally dedicated to making a significant contribution to the development of Lagos State and our party.

I want to thank the media for their professionalism and ongoing involvement.

We are humbled by the devotion and faith of our supporters around the state. I don’t take it for granted.

We shall keep working together for Lagos’ advancement and the prosperity of our wonderful party.

Thank you.

God bless the Lagos4Lagos Movement. God bless the All Progressives Congress. And God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Dr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran JANDOR
