A 29-year-old man, Franklin “Frankie” Paul Faircloth, has been arrested for attempted murder and arson after setting his girlfriend alight.

According to a statement issued by Sampson County, 29-year-old Franklin “Frankie” Paul Faircloth was found April 13 behind a residence in Roseboro, North Carolina after a citizen reported seeing someone matching his description.
Deputies searched the area and took Faircloth into custody without incident.
Faircloth was being processed and served with multiple outstanding warrants, including first-degree arson, attempted murder, first-degree burglary, assault inflicting serious bodily injury and a misdemeanor domestic violence charge.
The arrest follows an incident the night before, when deputies and firefighters responded to a reported structure fire around 10 p.m. at a home on North Pine Street in Roseboro. At the scene, authorities found a 36-year-old woman suffering from burns over roughly two-thirds of her body.
Investigators said the victim told deputies that Faircloth forced his way into her home, doused her with gasoline and set her on fire before fleeing on a gray and red bicycle.
The woman was taken to an undisclosed trauma center for treatment
The Sampson County Fire Marshal’s Office and Sheriff’s Office processed the scene and, after consulting with the district attorney’s office, obtained warrants for Faircloth’s arrest.
Authorities had previously said Faircloth, who was believed to be homeless, might still be in the Roseboro area before his capture.
