A man has cried out for help after officers from the ‘Monitoring and Compliance unit, Ministry of Housing in Lagos state,’ stopped him from installing his solar panel claiming he needed to obtain permit before installation.

Rising energy costs and power outages have driven many Nigerians to adopt solar and inverter solutions.

In a video making the rounds on social media, the man showed the faces of the officials dressed in white and brown uniform.

‘’Lagos state government, do you know these people? They are saying we now have to obtain a permit to install our solar panels. See them. I do not know where they came from. They say we need to obtain a permit before we install our solar panels. I have not heard of that before.” he said in Yoruba

The state government is yet to react to the video.
