A 54-year-old man, Samson Nagboje, has been sentenced to 20 years’ imprisonment for unlawfully having carnal knowledge of his four-year-old stepdaughter.

The Delta State High Court sitting in Isiokolo, presided over by Justice O. Aforkeya, delivered the conviction after it found the defendant guilty of the offence committed in 2020.

According to the prosecution led by Miss Phoebian Onomakpome, an Assistant Director in the Delta State Ministry of Justice, the offence occurred on May 14, 2020, at Eloh Compound, Ovu, in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State.

The prosecution told the court that Nagboje unlawfully had carnal knowledge of his four-year-old stepdaughter, an offence contrary to the laws of Delta State.

The defendant was earlier arrested by the police and arraigned before the court on June 8, 2020.

After the conclusion of the trial, Justice O. Aforkeya, on June 19, 2026, found him guilty and sentenced him accordingly.
