Emeka Ugwuonye, the former lawyer of Nollywood actor Yul Edochie’s estranged wife, May Edochie, has slammed Rita Edochie.
Newsunplug reported that Judy filed a writ of summons against Rita, demanding a billion in damages, a retraction and apology, an order to pay N50 million, and a 10% post-judgment interest, and more.
On Tuesday, the two appeared at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in Abuja, where they faced off, and the case was adjourned to November 24th.
Unlike Judy, who appeared at the court hearing alone, Rita came with some of her fans who flew in from abroad to show solidarity with her.
In a video from the court hearing, Rita threw shots at Judy, saying the actress wants her to stop speaking out against husband snatchers. She told Judy she will cry blood, pointing out how she is suing her for money she has never seen before.
In another video, a crowd that gathered in front of the court was seen shaming Judy Austin for dragging her in-law to court. The crowd were heard saying, “Husband snatcher, who is taking her in-law to court?”.
Speaking on it, Emeka, one of Judy’s legal counsel, slammed Rita, accusing her of leading the women who mocked Judy.
He said he would report the ladies he claims are part of May Edochie’s fans to the police and that they should prepare to leave Abuja or get arrested.
Emeka expressed happiness that a verbal assault on Judy, which happened at the court hearing, was recorded and would be used against Rita in court.
