A Black American mother has sparked mixed reactions after she gave her daughter an unflattering haircut for losing focus in school.
The mother cut her daughter’s hair such that it was uneven, giving her the look of a man balding at the centre of the head, with more hair on the sides of the head.
Sharing a photo of her daughter with the haircut, the mum, Kierra Williams, wrote on Facebook: “Shaved my daughter’s head today because she thinks being PRETTY is more important than being obedient! Since you can’t go to school focus on SCHOOL WORK and not be distracted by boys and things that DONT MATTER let’s take away some of that confidence. Humbled her REAL QUICK with the George Jefferson cut.”
