Nigerian rapper and entertainer Speed Darlington has shared his thoughts on the status of Afrobeats star Wizkid among Nigerian music fans, describing the singer as a king and a father figure to his supporters.
Speaking about the Nigerian music scene, Speed Darlington acknowledged Wizkid’s influence and popularity, while maintaining that he considers himself the number one artiste.
According to him, Wizkid takes the top spot among other Nigerian artistes in his absence, with highlife singer Flavour following closely behind.
“Wizkid is their king among all the Nigerian artiste. Wizkid is their papa. Na me be number 1, but minus me, na Wizkid followed by Flavour,” Speed Darlington said.
His statement has highlighted his confidence in his own musical standing while recognising the support Wizkid enjoys among music lovers.
