Gateway FC head coach, Ayo Filani has said their matchday seven win over Crown FC was a big relief.
Gateway FC edged out Crown FC 2-1 at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena, Abeokuta on Saturday.
It was the Abeokuta club’s first win of the 2025/26 season.
Filani admitted that he felt the pressure of the supporters.
“We had a poor start to the game, as we won’t have had good holiday if we hadn’t won the game,” Filani told Gateway FC Media.
“It’s a Christmas gift for all, because people have been so disappointed with our results so far as we failed to record a victory.
“I’m happy we combined good football and victory in our games.”
