NNPC Limited has announced the successful completion of the OB3 Gas Pipeline River Niger crossing, a major infrastructure milestone achieved using advanced Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) technology.

It gives me great pleasure to declare that NNPC Limited has successfully finished the OB3 Gas Pipeline’s River Niger crossing.

This milestone, which is being carried out 2km below the riverbed using cutting-edge HDD technology, opens up a transit capacity of 2 billion scf/day, bolstering Nigeria’s industrial expansion, power generation, and energy security.

Additionally, it builds on the success of our AKK crossing and demonstrates creative engineering, meticulous execution, and the steadfast dedication of our team and partner, PCE Nig. Limited.

I express my gratitude to Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his Gas-to-Prosperity program; our Board, led by Chairman Ahmadu Musa Kida; the host communities; and the resilient NGIC staff for their unwavering support and dedication.

More than 500 million scf/day of domestic gas are made available by the OB3 Pipeline, which connects East to West and the AKK Pipeline to the Northern route.

Power plants, fertilizer, manufacturing, and new industries will be supplied by the AKK throughout Kaduna, Kano, and beyond, promoting West African exports, job development, economic diversification, and energy access.
