Rivers United forward, Abdulrasheed Dabai, has expressed optimism that the team will do well in the new season.
Dabai opened the scoring for the Pride of Rivers in their 2-0 win over Plateau United in Port Harcourt on Sunday.
The former Niger Tornadoes striker said the squad has the potential to win more matches as the season progresses.
“It’s just the first game for the new season we are hopeful for more wins in the campaign,” Dabai told Rivers United media.
“We need to appreciate the fans for the support in the game.”
Rivers United will be in action again this weekend in the first leg preliminary round of the CAF Champions League against San Pedro in Cote d’ Ivoire.
