Rivers United assistant coach, Olanrewaju Yemi Daniel, has declared the team’s target ahead of the new season.
Finidi George’s side will compete on three fronts in the 2026/27 season – the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, the President Federation Cup, and the CAF Champions League.
Olanrewaju declared Rivers United’s readiness to have a successful season.
“Pre-season has been cool and tough. We are battle-ready for the League and CAF Champions League,” Daniel wrote on X.
“This is my 4th consecutive season in all CAF Club competitions. With two group stage qualifications in the CAF Confederation Cup and CAF Champions League, although I don’t think I am motivated for the continental as much as I am for the league this season.”
Rivers United will face Plateau United in their opening fixture of the day season on Sunday 30th August.a
The Pride of Rivers will start their CAF Champions League campaign with a first preliminary round clash against FC San Pedro of Ivory Coast next month.
