The family of a missing farmer allegedly murd£red near his farm in the Isanlu-Isin council area of Kwara is appealing to security agencies to investigate the circumstances surrounding his de@th.

Rofiat Abdulazeez, the deceased’s daughter, made the appeal as she narrated how her father’s remains were discovered in a bush.

In an interview with Punch, she explained that her father left his residence in Isalu, Isin Local Government Area, at about 7 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2026, for his cocoa farm in Owa-Onire, and failed to return.

She said the family raised the alarm after several unsuccessful attempts to contact him, prompting local hunters and community members to immediately begin a search operation.

“When the hunters got to his farm, they found only his motorcycle parked there. Seeing the motorcycle without my father filled us with fear. We initially believed he might have been kidnapped and waited anxiously, expecting that someone would contact us to demand a ransom. However, no call ever came,” Rofiat said.

According to her, the hunters extended the search into the surrounding bush, where they later found her father’s lifeless body.

“After searching for some time, far away from where his motorcycle had been parked, they made a horrifying discovery. They found my father’s lifeless body in the bush. His two hands had been tied, and he had been brutally killed,” she alleged.

“The pain of losing my father in such a cruel and heartbreaking manner is something our family cannot put into words.

“He was more than a father; he was a loving husband, a caring parent, and a hardworking man who left home that morning simply to work on his farm and provide for his family. He never returned home.”

She called on the police to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.

“We want those responsible for this terrible crime to be identified, arrested, and prosecuted according to the law. My father deserves justice, and our family deserves answers. We will continue to seek justice until those responsible are held accountable,” she said.

Rofiat also voiced concern over the slow pace of the investigation, saying that although officers from the Isalu-Isin Divisional Police Headquarters recovered her father’s motorcycle from the scene, the family has yet to receive any update on the case.

“We reported the incident to the Police Division in Isalu-Isin, and I learnt that the Police had retrieved the motorcycle from the scene, but we are not hearing anything again concerning it,” she added.
