Nigerian streamer and content creator Peller has sparked controversy on social media after a video from his livestream went viral, showing him referring to himself as Jesus Christ.
The incident, which reportedly happened during a livestream on November 1, 2026, involved Peller and a guest who strongly disagreed with his actions.
In the viral clip, Peller greeted his guest by calling himself “Jesus Christ” instead of using his usual name. His remark immediately triggered an argument, with the guest expressing displeasure over what he considered disrespectful to the Christian faith.
The guest reminded Peller that he has millions of followers, reportedly 17 million, and should be mindful of the influence he has on his audience. He also maintained that religion should not be made a subject of mockery, irrespective of the intention behind the act.
However, Peller defended himself, explaining that he was only wearing a white and red outfit with a wig. He questioned why his appearance should be interpreted as an attempt to portray Jesus Christ.
The streamer further argued that nobody knows exactly what Jesus looked like, making it unreasonable for anyone to conclude that he was deliberately impersonating him.
When questioned about his religious beliefs, Peller disclosed that he is a traditionalist who practises juju rather than Christianity.
He also announced that he intended to dress as an Imam during another livestream the following day. His statement reportedly shocked his guest and another participant, who cautioned him that he was only making the situation worse.
Despite the guest’s repeated objections, Peller maintained his position, insisting that religion should not be taken too seriously.
He further argued that even Jesus Christ would not want people fighting in his name, dismissing the heated exchange as an unnecessary reaction to his outfit and comments.
