Actor and reality TV star, Tayo Faniran, has said that delivering strong performances in films places a healthy pressure on him to prepare more thoroughly for each role.

Speaking in an interview with Saturday Beats, Faniran explained that the expectations created by good performances motivate him to deepen his preparation process.

“Performing well in movies puts pressure on me, but it’s good pressure; the kind that pushes you to prepare properly. I know the type of pressure I need. Sometimes it’s a month away, sometimes two months, depending on the depth of the character.”

Faniran, who played Ninalowo in the crime thriller ‘Gangs of Lagos’, and Victor in ‘Ada Omo Daddy’, said he approaches every role as a defining opportunity in his career.

“All it takes is one good job to announce you to the world as a great actor,” he said. “That’s how I treat every project I take on. I see each role as a step to the next level, so I put my all into every job I commit myself to.”

The actor also praised the steady growth of Nollywood, noting the rise in quality storytelling and ambitious projects across the industry.

“Nollywood is improving year in, year out. People are coming up with interesting projects, and it’s been a great run so far. I’m focused on doing my part; letting my work come out and building my own career, just like everyone else,” he said.
