Nollywood actor Uche Maduagwu has publicly thrown his weight behind singer Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, taking his support beyond social media and onto the streets of Lagos.
On Monday, August 10, Maduagwu joined a group of supporters who staged a street demonstration in Lagos in solidarity with the music star. Participants were seen moving along a busy road while holding banners and placards displaying messages of support for Mr P.
The actor later shared videos from the demonstration on Instagram, where the footage attracted attention from fans and followers.
Explaining his reason for joining the protest, Maduagwu said his decision was intentional, noting that he had made a personal commitment to stand by Peter Okoye.
“I promised myself to support Peter Psquare all the way, that is why I’m on the busy road of Lagos to support Mr P. I’m not like other celebs, I can’t keep quiet after seeing all Mr P went through, nobody deserve to go through that,” he wrote.
Peter Okoye reacted to Maduagwu’s post in the comment section, responding with emotional and prayer emojis, seemingly acknowledging the actor’s public show of solidarity.
The singer has remained embroiled in a prolonged family dispute involving his twin brother, Paul Okoye, and their elder brother, Jude Okoye, with the disagreements spilling into the public space over time.
Maduagwu’s appearance at the Lagos demonstration has since generated reactions online, with several fans applauding him for openly standing with Mr P and showing his support in person.
